    What is GDPR?

    It s a new European framework which enhances the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998, giving you greater protection and rights, and more control over how your data is used.  Serencroft and its care homes are committed to respecting privacy and ensuring that confidentiality of personal information is protected whether provided through paper based, electronic communication, on the telephone or in person.

    The information you provide will be processed mainly about the administration of our services. A full list of what information we control and process and for what purposes is set out in our notification with the Information Commissioner's Register of Data Controllers.     Who your information may be shared with (internally and externally)

    We will only share, disclose or publish confidential personal information where it is lawful to do so, where it is in the significant public interest to do so, and where the recipients of the information have a genuine 'need to know’.

    We try to be as open as it can be in terms of giving people access to their personal information. Individuals can find out if we hold any personal information by making a Subject Access Request under the Data Protection Act 1998.
